The MWEB Africa head office is based in Mauritius and operates in sub-Saharan Africa, outside of South Africa, through distributors and joint ventures. Joint ventures include MWEB Africa operations in Namibia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, as well as the AFSAT joint ventures in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The rest of the continent is serviced through distributors of its VSAT services

The MWEB Africa ventures in these countries offer turnkey ISP services such as call centre, technical support, value added services and subscription management, plus a wide range of connectivity products for the Home, SMME, SOHO and Corporate markets. MWEB Africa is a leading provider of connectivity products providing services over access technologies including Fixed line, Wi-Fi, WiMAX and VSAT (connectivity products may differ from country to country). MWEB Africa provides Internet, networking and converged products in the markets we serve. MWEB Africa operates a VSAT service throughout Sub Sahara Africa under the iWay brand for corporate or business subscribers.

MWEB Africa's operations follow the footprint and success of MultiChoice Africa, the Naspers group's Pay-TV operations in sub-Saharan Africa and utilise viable synergies within the group companies.

AFSAT Communications

MWEB Africa acquired AFSAT Communications Limited in October 2007. The acquisition of AFSAT Communications Limited with their iWay VSAT product brand extended MWEB Africa’s reach to East Africa with subsidiaries in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya as well as the rest of the continent via AFSAT’s distributor network.

AFSAT has won many awards in the industry including the 2006 African Federation of Information and Communication Technology Associations (AFICTA) for The Best Business Quality broadband in Africa and in 2007 the WCA (World Communications Award) award for Best operator in Developing Markets and continue to grow.
