HARRY AUCAMP: GManager - MWEB Africa (High Res Image)
Harry Aucamp joined the group (MNET) in 1987 as an IT consultant. He joined permanently in 1992 and was part of the development team to develop MultiChoice Africa's Pay-TV operations in sub-Saharan Africa from 1994 onwards. He then took up the position of GM at MultiChoice Namibia in 1997 to 2000 and established MWEB Namibia during this period.
He then joined the MWEB Africa office as the business development manager and took up the position of GM MWEB Africa Support Office in Cape Town in 2002. MWEB businesses in sub-Saharan Africa include the joint ventures in Namibia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
MWEB VSAT was launched in 2006 and offers VSAT services to the Sub-Sahara Africa market.
In 2007 MWEB Africa acquired AFSAT Communications, which operate in East Africa and have subsidiaries in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Nigeria.
Harry became CEO of MWEB Africa in 2007 and is based in Mauritius.
