We at MWEB have a social responsibility in bridging the digital divide. Our aim is to empower people from previously disadvantaged communities to participate in the modern economy by investing in infrastructure providing services and creating opportunities. The primary aim of MWEB's Corporate Social Investment programme is to address development issues in South Africa. The secondary role of the CSI activities is to support the development of our Brand.
Our focus areas:
1. Education
The programme will primarily focus on Bursary support for deserving students at tertiary level. We will also provide support to deserving tertiary institutions with Internet connectivity and computer hardware support. MWEB will also focus on Internships for qualifying students.
2. District Health Systems
MWEB partnered with SHAWCO in the Khayelitsha community, whose core focus is the delivery of Primary Healthcare needs.
3. Disaster Management
MWEB will make its services and networks available in the event of a disaster.
Corporate Social Investment (CSI) encompasses projects that are external to the business. It is the advancement of the economic and social transformation in the ICT sector. Our focus is to ensure strong partnerships with our various stakeholders (employees, different communities, NGO’s, and government departments). Our strategy is about delivering stakeholder value and supporting the communities in which we operate.
